Cyberbullying

Cyberbullying

This shouldn't fully be the schools responsibility to punish the students that are bullying others via text, email, or any social media source.  The school should however be the ones who bring it up to the parents or the local authorities if they are made aware of the situation.  If anyone is bullied because of bring it to the schools attention and the student is bullied at school or during school hours then yes they should be able to punish the student that is bullying another student.  There are many ways to bring this up to the parents, the school could call the parents in and have the local police department there when they bring the issue up to the parents while the student is present.  I think there needs to be some responsibility put on the parents to correct their child, the school isn't responsible for what the student does outside of the school and if its made aware that the student is doing this outside of the school then local police can make some attempt to keep an eye on the issue.  The parents need to make changes and correct the child if they don't then the child/student will think that its ok to continue their actions.  Now if the school has taken those actions then yes if it continues I can see the school stepping in and doing something, if the parents simply don't care or don't want to correct the problem.
